Biography

Floyd Lowell Brock, age 80, longtime resident of Hibbing died Monday, October 3, 2011, in the Fairview University Medical Center – Mesabi. He was born October 25, 1930 in Northfield, MN, the son of Martin and Myrna (Mallory) Brock. He grew up in Bear River and attended school in Alango. Floyd was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Judy McCaskie on September 14, 1957 in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing.
Floyd worked as a Maintenance Mechanic at the National Steel Pellet Plant – retiring in 1989. He attended the Wesley United Methodist Church. Floyd loved cars, and was a member of the Studebaker Club.
Floyd is survived by his wife: Judy; his daughter: Lori (Jeffrey) Belak of Hibbing; his son: Gregory (Shari) Brock of Hibbing; his sister: Martha (Paul) Panula of Hibbing; his brother: Martin (Arlyn) Brock of Crystal, MN; his sister-in-law: Rosemary Brock of New Brighton, MN; three grandchildren: Cassandra Belak, Tawnya (Weston) Ridgewell, and Katie (Andrew) Graham; and six great-grandchildren: Christian, Nicholas, Clayton, Kaylob, Shalyn, and Emmily.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 pm Funeral Service Friday, October 7, 2011, in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Terry Tilton will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
