Gary Lee Mattonen, age 52 of Virginia died Monday, October 31, 2011 in his home. He was born November 25, 1958 in Virginia the son of James and Judy (Milbridge) Mattonen and was a graduate of Virginia High School, class of 1977. Gary grew up in Britt and was a longtime Virginia resident. He was a former member of the IBEW Local # 160 and was employed by the ODC in Virginia and Buhl. Gary loved to compose music, play his guitar, and fish.

Gary is survived by his son: Adam Lee Mattonen of Decatur, IL; his parents: Judy and David Wirtanen of Britt; sisters: Gayle (Craig) Luukkonen of Britt, Tracy (Brent) DeBenedet of Appleton, WI and Tricia (Ted) Miller of San Francisco, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father: James Mattonen and his grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel in Virginia. Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener will officiate. Inurnment will be in the South Sandy Township Cemetery.
