Genevieve Mae Lervik, age 94, longtime resident of Hibbing, MN, died peacefully Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Hillcrest Adams in Hibbing. She was born February 26, 1932, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of George and Margaret (Weien) Carter. She was a graduate of Bemidji High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Bemidji State University. Genevieve was united in marriage to Reuber R. Lervik on November 24, 1962, at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji.

Gen worked in elementary education teaching first in Robbinsdale, MN, and later in Hibbing, MN. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Minnesota 4-H. She enjoyed attending the MN State Fair yearly.

Gen is survived by her daughter: Joan (Todd) Hebeisen of Mora, MN; grandsons: Aaron (Olivia) Hebeisen of Red Wing, MN, and Alex Hebeisen of Mountain View, HI; great-grandson: Carter Hebeisen; and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Reuben (1999); and Brother: George Carter.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Friday, September 4, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Reverend John Dietz will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
