George Andria, 84 and ¾'s, of Hibbing, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2026.  George was born in Hibbing, MN on a beautiful summer day on August 4th, 1941 to Mary (Coppoletti) and Chris Andria.   George was a proud graduate of Hibbing High School in 1959 with his claim to fame classmate Bob Dylan.  After graduating from Hibbing High School with honors, George earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint John's University, Collegeville.  As a perpetual student and always wanting to continue to learn, he received his PHD in Mathematics and Physics in Saint Louis, MO.   He did a fellowship with NASA at Washington State University and upon graduation, became a college professor at Pittsburg University.  With the tides turning and the computer industry in its infancy and wanting to continue to learn and challenge his beautiful mind, he turned to the computer science field.  Learning and loving the challenges of the software industry, it led George to a lifelong passion in the computer consulting industry.  Co-founder of The Talus Group, a computer consulting / placement firm, in 1990, George returned to his home state of Minnesota and found the love of his life, Georgia.  With The Talus Group ending; George and Georgia moved up to the Iron Range to retire (haha) and be with their family and friends.   With Georges' incredible amount of energy and an amazing group of art loving friends, George purchased the Montgomery Ward building for the purpose of housing the art community which led to the creation of the Borealis Art Guild in 2015.  George was the backbone of the Borealis Art Guild – handling the finances, construction of the suites, and the essential paperwork that kept everything running.  With 10 years of the Borealis Art Guild open to the Iron Range community, thousands of adults and children have been exposed to numerous art forms.  George independently funded the Borealis Art Guild for 2 years during and after COVID.  George was always willing to provide guidance and assistance to anyone in need, whether we wanted it or not.

George truly enjoyed traveling with his wife Georgia.  Highlights of their travel were a few times in Rome, England, Spain, Costa Rica and once to Australia.  Seeing the architecture and depth of design led to another passion of acrylic painting. He completed 59 paintings. George loved to play trivia and any kind of card game with family (especially Barb and Floyd) and friends and loved trying not to get caught cheating!  George enjoyed bowling, breakfasts with the boys, dinners with the "Kelly Lakers", and pontooning all around Side Lake with a favorite stop to Bimbo's.  Cruising all over the Iron Range telling stories of the coal and mining industry with an uncanny memory of the history of Hibbing and local mining locations with particular emphasis on Kitzville, Carson Lake, and Leetonia locations; a major highlight of George's day.

George's witty and dry sense of humor baffled some, caught some off guard, and deepened our love for the genius mind of which most just called George.  With his "don't be a statue" logic, George did in one lifetime what most do in 5.  His enthusiastic music passions for Buddy Holly, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Willie Nelson will ring in our minds forever.

George will always be remembered as a gentleman and a scholar.  Always remembered and truly missed.

George is survived by his beloved wife: Georgia (Barach); children: Frances (Jeff), Patricia, Kathy, Bridgett, and G. Daniel;  Stepchildren: Christie Chervenak, Michael (Amy) Sushoreba, and Kalen Sushoreba;  Brother: Chris; and Sister: Kathy Paglarini; Sisters-in-law: Barb Gorman and Gail Stenger; and Brother-in-law: Joseph (Anita) Barach; and numerous wonderful grandchildren and beautiful great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his Parents: Mary and Chris Andria; Brother: Charles; Sister-in-law: Kathleen 'Babe' Andria; Brother-in-law; Floyd Gorman; and his partner in crime Chenda Jo Madich.

Services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing, MN by Father Bill Skarich on Tuesday, July 7th.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am , with a mass at 11:00 am followed by a private graveside service.  A Valentini's Luncheon will be held immediately afterwards at Blessed Sacrament Church.
