Georgia Jean "Jackie" Guidarelli, age 89, longtime resident of Buhl died Friday, November 26, 2010 in the Memory Care Unit of Edgewood Vista in Virginia. She was born October 6, 1921 in Ft. Dodge, IA, the daughter of George and Mary (Anderson) Larkin. She graduated from Buhl High School, and was united in marriage to Thomas Guidarelli on June 4, 1941 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Buhl.
Jackie worked as a homemaker, but also worked at the Garment Factory in Chisholm, as a secretary at Hoganson Construction Co. in Montevideo, MN. She and Thomas together owned and operated the Buhl Highway Grocery store where they were fondly known as "Mr. & Mrs. G". She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Buhl, and the Buhl ladies sewing club. Jackie enjoyed making handcrafts, and refinishing furniture. She was a great cook.
Jackie is survived by her four children: Colleen (Tony) Martinson of New Prague, MN, Tom (Cathy) Guidarelli of Lakeville, MN, Jean (Greg) Arntz of Britt, MN, and Rick (Kay) Guidarelli of Eden Prairie, MN; a sister: Ruth Wagner of Ft. Dodge, IA; a brother: Jim (Mac) Larkin of Prescott, AZ; grandchildren: Tony (Beth), Chris (Teresa), Ryan (Amy), and Corey (Jackie) Martinson, Gina (Brad) Guidarelli, T.J. Guidarelli, Nick & A.J. Arntz, Toni Lynn (Matt) Guidarelli, and Rocco Guidarelli; great-grandchildren: Luke, Katelyn, Mitch, Nikki, Maria, Emma, Nolan, Coral, Kaden, and Taya; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Thomas in 2007; brothers: Clyde, Lyle, and Kenneth Dawson; and sisters: Fern Kane, and Lois Mallaro.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm, Tuesday, November 30, 2010, in the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Buhl. Fr. John O'Donnell will be the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl.
