Obituary

Georgia M. Niebeling, age 94, longtime resident of Hibbing, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at her home.  She was born May 19, 1931, in Mandan, ND, the daughter of Major George and Elsie (Larson) Dearholt.  She was a 1949 graduate of Hibbing High School.  Georgia was united in marriage to H. Merle Niebeling on June 30, 1950, at the Hibbing Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.


Georgia worked as a retail clerk at JC Penney, was an Aide at Leisure Hills, the Hibbing Hospital, and at the Victory Christian Academy.  She logged more than 5000 volunteer hours with the Hospital. She was a Salvation Army Soldier before becoming a member of Hibbing Alliance Church where she was the choir director for many years.


Georgia is survived by her children: Merla Svigel Romano of Hibbing, MN, Debra Fisher Mackley of St. Cloud, MN, Terri (Roland) Bouchie Erickson of Hibbing, MN, Robb (Sherry) Niebeling of Ocala, FL, Dan (Pat) Niebeling of Belle Plaine, MN, and Dave (Linda) Niebeling of Billings, MT; 18 Grandchildren; 27 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: H. Merle Niebeling (2003), and granddaughter: Kari Luoma.


Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service Sunday, August 3, 2025.  The Reverend Kevin L. Norton will officiate.  Inurnment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.  The service will be livestreamed on the Hibbing Alliance Church Facebook and YouTube pages.


The family would like to extend their gratitude to Shannon and Lelyn Lustila for the compassion and care they gave to Georgia.
