Obituary

Gerald Eugene Johnson, age 82 of Eveleth, died on November 20, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm. He was born in Duluth on April 3, 1936 the son of Arvo and Margaret (Fechner) Johnson. Gerald joined the US Army in 1954 and served until 1959. He then re-enlisted in the US Navy in 1959 and served until 1963. Gerald loved serving his country. He held numerous diplomas as he loved learning. He was a Christian, loved his family, pets, MN Vikings, MN Twins, camping, and putting together puzzles.


Gerald is survived by sons: Tony (Tammy) Sederlund and Henry Johnson; daughters: Sue Sederlund, Helen (Jeff) Kukowski, and Elaine Johnson; grandchildren: Andrew, Stephanie, Jeremy, Sarah, Christopher, Stacy, Richard, Corey, Joshua, Jessica, Kara, Tara, Derek, Taylor, Abbey;18 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.


A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Balkan Community Center, 6061 Hwy 73 North, Chisholm, Minnesota. A Gathering time for family and friends will begin one our prior to the service. Inurnment, with full military honors will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.


Memorial donations preferred.
