Jerry J. "Big Jer" Sandretto, age 67 a longtime Virginia resident and formerly of Eveleth, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in the Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids surrounded by his family. He was born September 28, 1943 in Hibbing the son of Olga Sandretto (Mihelich) and stepfather: Harris Kluser. Jerry was employed as a furniture repairman, upholsterer, and delivery man for Sagen's Tradition House, Siegel's Furniture and Schneiderman's Furniture. He enjoyed time spent with his family and was an avid sports fan. Jerry was a people person who loved to socialize with friends new and old.
Jerry is survived by his children: John (Heather) Sandretto of Forest Lake, Jo-Ann (Greg) Salmi of Eveleth and Brandie Sandnas of Eveleth; grandchildren: Haven, Zachary, Summer, Samantha, and Vinny; and a host of friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife: Judy; mother and stepfather; brother: John Sandretto; daughter: Jeanine Sandretto; and granddaughter: Stormie Sandretto.
A Gathering Time for Family and Friends will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service in the United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth. Reverend Father Charles Flynn will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Eveleth Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred.
