Glenn David Erickson, age 51 of Embarrass, lost his battle with ALS on Friday, October 14, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born July 2, 1965 in Aurora, the son of Stanley and Charlotte (Daggett) Erickson and was a graduate of Horace Mann High School in Biwabik, Class of 1983. After high school, Glenn worked for Skibo Timbers, the family business. He went to Philadelphia for a couple of years and worked for Giles & Ransom, prior to returning to Embarrass and Skibo Timbers. Glenn married Teresa Miller on September 5, 1992 in Tower. In 1996 he was hired by Northshore Mining in Babbitt where he worked primarily on the railroad until his retirement in 2014. Glenn loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time at the cabin, and stock car racing.


Glenn is survived by his wife of 24 years: Teresa; sons: Travis Erickson, Eric Erickson, and Ethan Erickson all of Embarrass; extended sons: Sam and Jared of Embarrass; mother: Charlotte Erickson of Virginia; sisters: Corinna (Murray Kinsey) Erickson of Babbitt and Anne Marie (Jim) Konstenious of Embarrass; brother: Arlin (JoAnn Fletcher) Erickson of Little Falls; In-laws: Rodney & Sarah Maki and Ken Miller; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends, including special friends: George, Brad, Eric, and Kenny.


He was preceded in death by his father: Stanley Erickson.


A visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Bauman's Vermilion Funeral Home in Tower. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 in the Embarrass Cemetery. Following the Graveside, a celebration of life will be held at the Timber Hall in Embarrass.


Glenn's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Amber Erickson and staff for Glenn's care. Also special thanks to Sandy and the workers at the ALS Association for all the work done for ALS Awareness.
