Harold K. Kolstad, age 91 of Virginia died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in St. Michaels Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 14, 1925 in St. Hilaire, MN the son of Knute and Thea (Nomland) Kolstad and served the United States Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during WWII aboard LST 609. Upon his honorable discharge, Harold attended and graduated from Dunwoody Institute; and was employed as a printer by Ostroot Printing in Minneapolis. He married Verneal Elsenpeter on August 8, 1947 in Minneapolis. They lived in Richfield until 1981 when they moved to Debs, Minnesota. They moved to Virginia in 2011. Harold was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Harold is survived by his wife of 70 years, Verneal; children: Ron (Diane) Kolstad of Duluth, Linda Borowick of Beatty, NV and Janet (Dan) Schultz of Tower; grandchildren: David (Melissa) Schultz of Oxford OH, Michael (Allycia) Schultz of Stacy MN, Emily Schultz of Marquette MI and Sarah Schultz of Marquette MI; great-grandchildren: Brielle, Brayden, and Roman; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and son-in-law: Danny Borowick.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia. Deacon Dan Schultz will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia at a later date. Military Honors are accorded by the Virginia Serviceman's Honor Guard.
