Obituary

Harold Walfred Sederlund, age 79 of Casper, WY was called home on May 19, 2014 in his home. He was born August 9, 1934 in Nashwauk, MN, the son of Walfred and Florence (Lappi) Sederlund. Following graduation from the Greenway High School in 1953, Harold joined the Army in August and was stationed in Annapolis, Maryland before being transferred to Frankfort, Germany. He was then transferred to Fort Knox, Kentucky until he was discharged. He was a proud Veteran of the Korean War. He married in 1954 and had 5 children. Harold made his home in Palo and worked at Erie Mining Company as a Maintenance Mechanic. After retirement, he moved to Wyoming, worked for Chinook Pipeline, Getty Oil, Moss Equipment and as a Maintenance Engineer for Hampton and Holiday Inn. Shortly after retirement, a stroke left him disabled and he spent the remaining years of his life in Casper, WY. He enjoyed the company of his dog, Randy, and watching his grandson hit golf balls off the top of Casper Mountain. His grandson hit one more golf ball for him at the MN State Tournament.
Harold is survived by his children Tony (Tammy) Sederlund of Virginia, Susan (Steve) Larson of Duluth, Helen (Jeff) Kukowski of Chisholm, Elaine Johnson of Eveleth, Henry Johnson of Eveleth; grandchildren. Andrew and Stephanie Sederlund, Jeremy and Sarah Bialczak, Christopher and Stacy Larson, Richard (Laura) Templin and Corey Templin, Joshua, Jessica, Kara and Tara Johnson, Derek, Taylor, and Abby Johnson; 9 great grandchildren, nephew Michael Sederlund of Bartlett, TN; extended family and friends, and his loyal and loving dog, Randy.
He was preceded in death by his father- Walfred Martin Sederlund of Grand Rapids, Mother- Florence Hannah (Lappi) Sederlund of Biwabik, Brother- Robert Sederlund of Mt. Iron, and a sister in infancy.
Graveside services, with military honors accorded, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
