Harvey Leroy Rudeck, age 69, of Makinen died Monday, January 23, 2012, at his home. He was born January 21, 1943 in Duluth, the son of Harold and Lucille (Larson) Rudeck, and was a graduate of Denfeld High School.
Harvey was a career veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War and retiring in 1982.He married Patricia Patrick on December 27, 1975 while serving in North Carolina. In civilian life, Harvey was employed by, and retired from Florida Power and later retired from Minnesota Power as a control room operator. He was a member of the American Legion.
Harvey is survived by his wife: Patricia Rudeck; mother: Lucille Rudeck; children: Mary Ann Wilkerson of Ocala, FL, Steve (Holly Ann) Jowers of Biwabik, Shannon Alaspa and Jennifer Bowen both of Makinen; siblings: Allan (Linda) Rudeck, Cheryl Hocevar and Michelle (John) Davey all of Duluth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold "Red" Rudeck.
A Gathering Time for Family and Friends will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Virginia Servicemen's Club.
