Obituary

Irene Paulson, 90, of Virginia passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, surrounded by family at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN.

Irene was born December 14,1918, to Nels and Mary Anderson. She was a graduate of Virginia High School, and united in marriage with Mr. Medford (Med) Paulson in November of 1940. Irene and Med spent many wonderful years together at their home near Bailey's lake in Virginia, and at their cabin on Lake Vermilion.

Irene enjoyed berry picking, gardening, coffee with friends, cooking and baking. She cherished the time spent with her family. It mattered not whether one was hungry, if you went to Irene's, you would eat. She also loved to play cards and work puzzles.

Irene was a long time active participant in the Sons of Norway, and attended Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia, where she sang hymns, and enjoyed the quilting group; often bringing her grandchildren along.

She will be greatly missed but remembered with love by her children, Judy Palso, Grand Rapids, Phyllis (Richard) Starich, Virginia, Marilyn Turnbull, Tower, Bill (Jill) Paulson, Mt. Iron, her grandchildren, Glenn (Pam) Palso, Corrine (Missy) Palso Allan, Daniel (Bryleigh) Starich, David (Brooke) Starich, Darla LeDoux, Valerie (Matt) Lenci, Wyatt Turnbull, Cody Paulson, and her great grandchildren Kara and Ryan Palso, Garrett, Mason, Chase, and Chloe Allan, and Nico Lenci, sister Harriet Nelson of Lake Crystal, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Medford, infant son Robert, her parents, her sisters Edith Boril, Hildur Norsted, Dorothy Salo, and her brothers, John, George, Edmund, and Paul Anderson; and sons-in-law: Ballard Turnbull and Russell Palso..
