Jane M. Shoden, age 94, of Virginia died Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Michael's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia. She was born July 9, 1923 in Soudan, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Lee) Hendrickson, grew up in Kugler Twp., graduated from Embarrass High School, and was a longtime Virginia resident. Jane was the Jewelry Department Head for Woolworths, and later worked for Fashion Crossroads. She was a member of Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Angel Committee. Jane enjoyed cooking, baking, watching cooking shows, needlework, flower gardening, taking walks, loved traveling with family and enjoyed spending time at Lake 14.
Jane is survived by her children: Diane (Dan) Carlson, Pat Sleeman, Cheryl (Craig) Aluni, Debbie (Terry) Carpenter, Ron (Sandi) Shoden, Steve Shoden, and Darrell Shoden all of Virginia; grandchildren: Kathy (Rusty Olson) Carlson, Beth (Willie, Jr.) Spelts, Troy Sleeman, Heather Gulbranson (Gene Flaim), Brad (Diane) Sleeman, Lisa Shoden-McNamee, Stacy Shoden Russell, Holly (Jason) Semerad, Derek Shoden, Lindsey (Brent Turner) Shoden, Casey (Courtney) Aluni, Danielle (Matt) Seppi, Michael Shoden, Brittany (Dominic) DelCaro, Jenna Sandnas; great-grandchildren: Meghan, Samantha, Joey, Sydney, Branden, Ellie, Gavin, Paul, Abigail, Anna, Cody, Jordyn, Caitlin, Mila, Jocelyn, Estelle, Mattelyn, Haidyn, Aubri, Emmi, Isabelle, Amelia, Gabriella, Carter, Adaylia, Matteo, and Rome; two sisters: Dorothy Aronen of Lake Vermilion and Ruth (Joe) Jeanette of Arizona; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Peggy Palmersheim and Carol Schmid, sons: Richard and John, son-in-law: Paul Sleeman and great-grandson: Nicco DelCaro.
The Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate. A Gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the Church. Spring Inurnment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.
