Janice Margaret Fairbanks, age 87, longtime resident of Hibbing died Friday, September 29, 2023, at Guardian Angels in Hibbing.  She was born June 11, 1936, in Keewatin, MN, the daughter of Albert and Signe (Lindberg) Podominick.  She was a graduate and "Queen" of Keewatin High School.  Janice was united in marriage to Dean A. Fairbanks on August 16, 1957, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing.

Janice worked as a secretary for Hanna Mining Co., and then for the Mesaba Clinic for 20 years.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  Janice enjoyed listening to music, walking, cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Daniel (Michelle) Fairbanks, Bill (Sandy) Fairbanks, and Paul (Jeanne) Fairbanks, all of Hibbing; sister: Evelyn Anderson; brother: Dick (Karen) Podominick; grandchildren: Nicole (Steve) Kramer, Amanda (Austin) Walters, and Sarah (Dane) Porcelli; great-grandchildren: Arlo Walters, Barrett Walters, Ezra Kramer, Aksel Kramer, and Ingrid Kramer; and numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dean in 2010; brother: Albert Podominick, Jr.; and twin sister: Janet Shere.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Friday, October 6, 2023 at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  The Reverend John Dietz will officiate.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
