Jean F. Bergquist passed away June 13, 2015 in the Essentia Health Virginia Care Center. She was born June 30, 1929 in Middle River, MN the daughter of John Albert and Helen (Wagner) McCullough married Donald Bergquist on May 7, 1948 in Thief River Falls, MN. Jean attended school in Newfolden, and had lived in the Thief River Falls area until moving to Chisholm in February 1951.
Jean was a long-time employee of JC Penney in Virginia. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, chatting with family and friends, and had done some quilting. Jean was a member of the United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth.
Jean is survived by daughter: Nancy (John) Kleschult; son: Gary (Sharon) Bergquist; daughter-in-law: Jodie Bergquist; grandsons: Erik (Stacey) Haugland and Kevin Haugland; great-grandchildren: Breanna Haugland, Brock Haugland and Brett Haugland; sister: Ruth Morton; brother: Jake McCullough; numerous nieces including Kelly Cleveland, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Don on March 31, 2015; a son: Jack Bergquist on April 17, 2014; a sister: Janet Cleveland; and a son-in-law: Carl Haugland.
A Gathering time for family and friends will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service in the United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth. Pastor Steve Weston will officiate. Private family interment will take place in the Eveleth Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the United in Christ Lutheran Church.
