Jean Pfremmer, age 87 of Virginia died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Edgewood Vista Senior Living Center in Virginia. She was born July 24, 1922 in Winona, MN the daughter of Charles Burr and Sarah Fern (Wilson) Hubbard. Jean married Herb Pfremmer on October 5, 1943 in Minneapolis and they moved to the Virginia area in 1951. Jean was a member of the Monday Walking Group, PEO Chapter CI, the Methodist Church Women's Group, the Virginia DAC Board of Directors, PTA, and was past president of the Virginia Women's J.C.'s. She loved the outdoors, birds, sewing, knitting, cooking, riding her motorcycle, and she soloed as a pilot. Jean was the past co-owner and co-operator of the Lookout Mountain Ski Area, Four Seasons Supper Club, North Country Traders, and The Unusual Place in Eveleth. Jean cherished time spent with family and friends.
Jean is survived by her husband of 66 years: Herb; daughters: Bobbi (Ron) Westerbur of Eveleth, Carol (Kurt) Sundquist of Virginia, Nancy Swanson of Thornton, CO; son: Jerry (Paulette) Pfremmer of Gilbert; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother: Chuck Hubbard of Fountain Hills, AZ; sister-in-law: June Hubbard of Fountain Hills, AZ; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Robert Hubbard; sister-in-law: Angie Hubbard; and son-in-law: John Swanson.
A gathering time for family and friends will be held Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service in the Virginia United Methodist Church.
Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the Virginia Community Foundation.
