Jessie Anne Porter Hernandez (Ma'iingan), age 33 of the Vermilion Reservation died Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Essentia-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born July 19, 1984 in International Falls, MN the daughter of Dion and Roberta (Moyer) Porter. Jessie was employed as a blackjack dealer at Fortune Bay and the Black Bear. She loved to laugh, loved her family, made dream catchers, played volleyball, enjoyed the outdoors, going mudding, spent time at Standing Rock, was an avid Vikings and Raiders fan; and loved to watch her kids play sports.

Jessie is survived by her mom: Roberta Porter; children: Madison Porter, Devin Porter, Carlos Hernandez, Jr., and Kayden Hernandez; granddaughter: Elliana; sisters: Monica Porter and Kerie Porter; grandmas: Mary Porter and Caroline Boshey; uncles: Brian Moyer, Robert Moyer Jr., Turk Goggleye, and Harry Porter; aunts: Bessie Medicine and Rebecca Acevedo; nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad: Dion; uncles: Tyke Porter and Wade Shock and her Grandpas: Robert Moyer and Harry Porter.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the Nett Lake Tribal Government Center. Tribal Rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 22nd in the Nett Lake Tribal Government Center. Charlie Smith will be the Spiritual Advisor. Burial will follow in the Bois Forte Cemetery, Nett Lake.
