Joan Marie Wallace, age 62 of Hibbing and formerly of Willow River died Wednesday. August 25, 2010 in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. She was born November 29, 1947 in Duluth, the daughter of Donald and Emma (Oswell) Bartch. She grew up Willow River and graduated from Willow River High School. She lived Portland, Oregon and Phoenix, Arizona prior to returning to Hibbing, Minnesota in 1994.
Joan is survived by children: Diane (Brady Cassel) Cutsforth of Tigard, OR and Zach Wallace of Hibbing; siblings: Julie (Jack) Wirz of Corvallis, OR, Donald (Rebecca) Bartch, Jr. of Togo, MN and Carol Bartch of Hibbing; grandchildren: Brittany Spurgeon, Haley Viestenz, Daysen Viestenz, Alexander Johnson; aunt and uncle: Tiny and Anna Oswell of Carlton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Mary Fjosne.
At Joan's request, there will be no formal services.
