John E. "Archie" Moore, age 82, of Buhl and formerly of Hibbing, Keewatin, Bovey and Grand Rapids, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, in cornerstone Villa in Buhl. He was born August 18, 1931, in Grand Rapids, the son of Clifford and Daisy (Crowe) Moore. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School and later went on to attend Itasca Community College. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Archie served in the Korean War. Archie was united in Marriage to Myra Boardman on September 25, 1953, in Grand Rapids, MN.
Archie worked as a surveyor and a construction worker. He was a member of the North Star Church in Hibbing, VFW Post # 8510 in Hibbing, the American Legion in Keewatin, the Chisholm Drum and Bugle Corps, and the VFW Honor Guard in Hibbing.
Archie is survived by his children: Maureen (Patrick) Janashak of Hibbing, Mary Waldron of Hibbing, Shelly (Chuck) Temple of Keewatin, Peggy (John) Nelson of Richfield, MN, Marlene "Buzzy" Paolo of Hibbing, and William "Pat" Moore of Hibbing; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a sister: Beverly (Paul) Castellano of Deer River, MN.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents: his wife: Myra in 2013; his brother: Donald; and his grandson: Drake Lee Bays.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 10:00 am at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Timothy Maki will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Mid-Range Honor Guard.
