John Francis O'Neil, age 77, of Meadowlands and formerly of Duluth died Friday, October 30, 2009 in St. Raphael's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth. He was born May 4, 1932 in Lake City, MN the son of LeRoy and Helen (Klinnert) O'Neil. He graduated from Sacred Heart Cathedral in Duluth. A veteran of the Korean War, John served with the 148th Air Force wing.

John worked as a Postal Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. He was an accomplished bowler and golfer.

John is survived by his brother: Jim (Joan) O'Neil of Mountain, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Howard Bolang and Patrick O'Neil; and sisters: Mary Blanche Brooks, Helen O'Neil, and Margaret O'Neil.

A memorial service for John will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Frank Perkovich will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Lake City, MN.
