John (Jack) Prout sadly passed away on October 15th, 2024 at the age of 86 years old. Born March 17th, 1938, in Eveleth to James Charles Leslie Prout and Frannie (Van Brocklin) Prout. John attended school in Eveleth. Married June Irene Golden on August 25th, 1956, in Eveleth. They spent their married life in the Eveleth and Virginia area.
John worked for Kansas Jacobsen Dairy and the Coons Pacific Wash Paint in Eveleth. John was schooled as an Ophthalmic Assistant in Minneapolis and started working for the East Range Clinic on January 1st, 1962. John and June owned and operated the Plaza Beauty Salon and the Queens Theme. John retired from the East Range Clinic on December 31st, 1976, to become partners with June's brother and sister-in-law in the Golden Boy Market. They left Golden Boy Market in March of 1981 and bought the Lakeshor Motor Inn on September 8th, 1981. John returned to the East Range Clinic April of 1985 and retired a second time in fall 2000. John and June worked together at the Lakeshor till September 2000 when June became ill. John retired from the Lakeshor Motor Inn on June 1, 2007.
John served 4 years (1955 to 1959) in the Eveleth National Guard, was a past member in the Eveleth Elks and the Virginia Moose Club. John enjoyed traveling in the winters.
John married Dee Earsley on April 9th, 2010. Dar and her husband, Chuck Aro, stood up for them. When Dee came into John's life he started to enjoy life again. They spent time between their lake home on Lake Vermilion, winter vacations in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida and their home in Mountain Iron, Mn.
John is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife, Dee Prout; his children John (Pauline) Prout, Darren (Karrie) Prout, and Adam (Vicky) Prout; stepchildren Renee (Kent) Erickson, and Brian Earsley; numerous grand, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews,
John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Prout; parents; siblings Leslie Prout, Tom Prout, William Prout and Robert Prout, Dar Aro and Helen Prout.
Jack was loved by so many. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
