Jon Thomas Pettinelli, age 50 of Virginia died Sunday, December 29, 2013 in his home. He was born June 22, 1963 in Virginia, the son of Renold and Helen (Ercegovich) Pettinelli; graduated from Virginia High School and Dunwoody Institute. Jon married Lisa Allen on September 17, 1994 in Mt. Iron, and was a lifelong resident of Virginia. He was employed as a sheet metal worker by Bogdanovich Heating and Sheet Metal, Radotich Plumbing and Heating, Shannon Plumbing and Heating, and the Jamar Company. Jon was an avid snowboarder, wind surfer, fisherman, hiker and snowshoer. He was a great gardener, and loved spending time at the farm.
Jon is survived by his father: Renold Pettinelli of Virginia; wife: Lisa Pettinelli; sons: Chauncey and Niclas; siblings: Gregg Pettinelli of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Renell Pettinelli of Northfield, MN, Charles (Kim) Pettinelli of Virginia and Patrick (Jessica Klein) Pettinelli of Seattle, WA; father and mother- in-law: John (Gail) Allen; sisters-in-law: Rhonda (Rick) Allen, and Angela (Brad) Pratt; numerous nieces and nephews including: Michael, Kaye, Kelli, Andrew, Abbigail, Benjamin, and Brady; extended family and friends; and his beloved dog: Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his Mother: Helen Pettinelli.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 in Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church. A Gathering time for family and friends begins at 2:00 p.m.
