Send Flowers Joseph ""Grandpa Joe"" Alvin Johnson November 7, 1916 - April 11, 2014

Joseph Alvin Johnson, 97 years 4 months and 11 days (Known to the family as Grandpa Joe) joined his eternal family in heaven on April 11, 2014. Joe was born to Anton & Anna Johnson on November 7th, 1916 in Norman County, Mn. He was one of four children. Grandpa's passing came after a long struggle with many complications.

As a young man he worked the fields in Western Minnesota as a farmer and lived with his father. In his early years he met and fell in love with a young girl only to lose her to his best friend in marriage. When Sylvia became a widow, Joe once again entered into her life, and it wasn't until August 24th of 1974 that Joseph and Sylvia exchanged vows in Rindall, MN. Joe had finally married his one true love. The couple lived in Bejou, Mn., until 1988 when they moved to Hibbing, MN. where they made their home for over 30 years.

Joseph is survived by his stepchildren, Sherman (Slim) & Connie Sirjord, Harlee & Kathy Sirjord, Marv & Bonnie Sirjord, Grandchildren, Jeff & Daneil Sirjord, Mike & Dawn Sirjord, Jesse Sirjord, Brad & Becky (Smith) Sirjord, Josh & Amy Sirjord, Cindy & Brian Lervik, Amy & Jason (Schuld) Sirjord, Great Grand Children, Jory (Sarah Kovich) Sirjord, Keke Sirjord, Breonna Sirjord, Aryssa & Cason Sirjord, Riley Lervik and one Great Great Granddaughter, Jordyn Sirjord. Nieces Marlys LaClaire of Aitkin and Judy Isenberg of Stillwater, MN., Nephew, Loren Johnson of Livingston, TX., and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Anna Johnson, Twins, Carl Johnson and Tina (Melvin) Nelson, brother, Raymond ( Gladys) Johnson, stepson, James Sirjord, and the love of his life, Sylvia Inga Johnson.

He will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date with a private family graveside gathering.
