Josh Michael Haavisto, age 37 died August 13, 2013 in a cabin fire in Tower. He was born October 25, 1975 in Virginia the son of Michael and Susan (Carpenter) Haavisto and was a 1995 graduate of Virginia Roosevelt High School. Josh was a man of many trades; he worked at construction, was a skilled carpenter, was employed by Cirrus Design Corporation, and most recently by the Virginia Public Utilities. He loved spending time with his boys hunting, fishing, and camping. Josh had a big heart and would help those in need in any way he could. He loved children, and they loved him. His family called him the Pied Piper of today; he will be sadly missed.
Josh is survived by his parents: Susan and Michael Haavisto of Virginia; sons: Hunter Haavisto of Eveleth and Jayden Haavisto of Duluth; sister: Jody (Justin) Koschak of Virginia; paternal grandmother: Charlotte Haavisto of Britt; maternal grandmother: Dorothy Carpenter of Virginia; two nieces, a nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
