Joyce Elaine Wessman, age 82 of Virginia died Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. She was born November 30, 1934 in the More Hospital in Eveleth, the daughter of Walfred and Helmi (Kippola) Ornberg, was a 1952 graduate of Alborn High School and attended Duluth Business School. Joyce married Jorma Oscar Wessman on October 17, 1953 in Virginia and they were longtime Virginia area residents. She was a 28+ year employee of the J.C. Penney Co. starting as a sales clerk and working herself up to the merchandising manager for five departments. Joyce was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia and loved shopping and reading.

Joyce is survived by her daughter: Judy (Dan) Peliska of Mountain Iron; grandsons: Charlie (Katie) Peliska of St. Cloud and John Peliska of Champlin; sister-in-law: Betty Ornberg of Virginia; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and brothers: Arnold, Elroy, and infant brother: Ellard.

A gathering time for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia. Her memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Paul Lutter will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred.
