June Marie Dagen, age 74 of Tower died Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Virginia Convalescent Care Center. She was born March 26, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Boyd and Evelyn (Lewis) Merriman. She married Orvan "Steve" Dagen on April 15, 1955 and was a homemaker. She enjoyed picking wild berries for jams and jellies, spending time outdoors, cooking, and traveling. June loved being active in Church activities, helping others, and loved dogs and cats. She was a longtime member of the Soudan Baptist Church, and more recently the First Baptist Church in Cook. June prayed daily by name for extended family members.
June is survived by sons: Larry (Sally) Dagen of Gilbert, MN, Neil (Judy) Dagen of Sharon, NH, Jay Dagen of Talkeetna, Alaska, and Bruce Dagen of Cotton, MN; brothers: Gerald Merriman of Grand Rapids, MI and David (Dorothy) Merriman of Alto, MI; sisters: Nancy (Dick) Nordof of Lowell, MI, Dorothy (Duane) Brinks of Caledonia, MI, Janice (Bill) Banas of Byron Center, MI and Marjorie Williams of Wyoming, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Orvan; and a brother: Harvey Merriman.
A Gathering time for family and friends will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service in the First Baptist Church in Cook. Pastor Randy Swenson will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the ALS Foundation.
