Kathleen Marie (Castellano) Gate, age 51, longtime resident of Keewatin died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in Grand Itasca Hospital. She was born September 26, 1960 in Grand Rapids, MN, the daughter of Paul and Beverly (Moore) Castellano. She graduated from St. Francis High School and went on to receive her AA in Graphic arts from the Eveleth Vo-Tech.
Kathleen was first a homemaker who also worked as a gas station clerk, pharmacy technician, and did catering. She enjoyed sewing, collecting agates, camping, fishing, and jigsaw puzzles.
Kathleen is survived by her parents: Paul (Bunny) Castellano of Deer River, MN; her children: Paul (Amanda) Burdick, Dana (Matt Schmelke) Gate, and Dean Gate all of Keewatin; siblings: Kim (Al) Garber of Isanti, MN; Greg (Wendy) Castellano of Bethel, MN, and Tim (Michelle) Castellano of Sartell, MN; three grandchildren: Makenzie Schmelke, Braedon and Jerry Burdick; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Rod Tuomi will officiate.
