Kenneth Dale Childs, age 59 of Duluth died Thursday, December 1, 2011 in his home. He was born October 14, 1952 in Virginia, MN the son of Richard T. and Josephine S. (Alexander) Childs. Kenneth was raised by his foster parents: Paul and Delores Childs in Duluth. He was active in the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout; and a graduate of Duluth Central High School in 1971.He served with the Military Police in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He returned from active duty as a disabled veteran; and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Kenneth is survived by mother: Josephine Childs; siblings: Roger Childs of Kansas City, Scott Childs, Dennis (Lois) Childs, Gary Childs, Ron Childs and Gerry Hanson all of Duluth, Don (Diane) Childs and Reggie (Connie) Childs both of Tower, and Carol (Allen) Mathwig in Chaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his foster parents: Paul and Delores Childs; his father: Richard Childs; and brother: Edward Childs.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 in the Waters of Life Lutheran Church, 6221 Rice Lake Road, Duluth, MN.
