Kenneth R. Samson, age 88, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Monday, December 11, 2017 in his home with family at his side. He was born January 7, 1929 in Hibbing the son of John and Nettie (Sanders) Samson. He was a graduate of Hibbing High School, and a Veteran of the US Army. Kenny was united in marriage to Shirley M. Moore on February 28, 1953 in the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing.

Kenneth worked as a boiler mechanic for the Hibbing Public Utilities – retiring in 1979. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the AM Vets, and was a 51-year sober member of AA. He enjoyed woodworking, farming and working on vehicles.

Kenny is survived by his wife: Shirley; children: Kent (Nancy) Samson of Cookeville, TN, Kathleen (Milton) Hendrickson of Hibbing, Richard (Maria) Samson of Terre Haute, IN, and Donnie (Kolleen) Samson of Esko, MN; grandchildren: Jason (Brandy) Hendrickson, Jeremy (Christine) Hendrickson, Kent Samson II, Tamara Samson, Steven (Josie) Samson, Kristen (Greg) Winkelman, and Kristal Samson; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: LeRoy Samson; sisters: Virginia Samson, and Jean Ardel Jacobson; and grandson: Jesse Hendricks

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service Friday, December 15, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing. Steve Tomberlin will be the officiant. Interment will be in the Hibbing Park "Maple Hill" Cemetery.
