Larry L. Kubasta, age 67 of Britt died unexpectedly of a heart attack in his home on Monday, April 30, 2018. He was born August 5, 1950 in Breckenridge, MN the son of Laverne and Evelyn (Novotny) Kubasta, was a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, Larry married Bobbie Kochevar on December 9, 1972 in Richfield. They resided in Minneapolis and Rosemount prior to moving to Britt in 1984. Larry was employed as a laborer, equipment operator and a supervisor for C.S. Mc Crossan, Potlach, and most recently, Laurentian Aggregate. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Larry liked to hunt and fish, garden, snowmobile, 4-wheel, and go camping. He cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandbabies.
Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bobbie; children: Brad (Shannon) Kubasta of New Richmond, WI, Jen (Trent Richardson) Kubasta of Eden Prairie, MN and Craig (Melissa) Kubasta of Dilworth, MN; grandbabies: Kendall and Brooklyn; siblings: Arnie (Karen) Kubasta, Norman (Mitzi) Kubasta, Judi (Jerry) McDonald, Von (Brian) Stoen and Irene Billbe; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jan Norton and Dave Kubasta; brother-in-law: Dene Billbe; nephew: Shaun Norton; and mother-in-law: Dorothy Kochevar.
The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia. Reverend Father Brandon Moravitz, Celebrant. A gathering time for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Church. Inurnment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are the preferred way to honor Larry's memory, and may directed to the American Diabetes Association.
