Obituary

Laurence Rene Riendeau, age 78, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Monday, December 12, 2011, at his home. He was born July 2, 1933, in Plummer, MN, the son of Albert and Rose (Carpenter) Riendeau. He attended school in Plummer. He enjoyed hunting and trapping. He worked in the mines, and for the DNR.
Rene is survived by four children: Pamela Scofield of Sachse, Texas, June Riendeau of Superior, WI, Robbie Olson, and Tina Olson, both of Virginia, MN; seven siblings: Dolores Berg of Chisholm, MN, Willard Riendeau of Hibbing, MN, JoAnn Martin of Embarrass, MN, Joyce Hughes of Bovey, MN, Beulah Backer of North St. Paul, MN, Kathleen (Jim) Allen of Grand Rapids, MN, and Janice (Hank) Nyhus of Lander, WY; grandchildren: Rachel Scofield-Wilton, Jana and Zachary Olson; great-grandchildren: Eva and Theodore Wilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Lloyd, Roland, and Roy Riendeau; and sisters: Isabel, Gladys, and Lorraine Riendeau.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 pm service, Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Kevin L. Norton will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
