Leonard Hydukovich, age 88, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Saturday, October 26, 2013, in Heritage Manor in Chisholm. He was born September 22, 1925, in Hibbing the son of Nick and (Danica) Hydukovich. Following High School, Leonard served in the US Army in Japan during WWII. He was united in marriage to Georgia Hocking on September 23, 1950 in Hibbing.
Leonard worked in the Maintenance Dept. at Hibbing Community College – retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Michael's Serbian Orthodox Church, and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, farming, and his 1945 Farmall Tractor.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 63 years: Georgia; two daughters: Sue (Chuck) Johnson of Hibbing, and Nancy (Randy) Greenwood of Mt. Iron; three sons: Peter Hydukovich of Hibbing, Daniel Hydukovich of Yuma, AZ, and David Hydukovich of Hibbing; three sisters: Geraldine (Robert) Holin of Minneapolis, Genevieve Anselmo of Hudson, WI, and Phyllis Dorcy of St. Paul; a brother: Michael Hyduke of Minneapolis; six grandchildren: Danica (Jeff) Rueb, Nicole Hydukovich, Heather Johnson, Sara Hydukovich, Melissa Booth, and Matt Hydukovich; four great-grandchildren: Aubrey Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Josie Rueb, and Georgia Rueb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; four infant siblings, and his grandson-in-law: Brian Johnson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in St. Michael's Serbian Orthodox Church. Fr. Vladimir Lange will officiate.
