Biography Lily Marie Gustafson, age 101, lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 12, 1909 in Hibbing, the daughter of Oscar and Maggie (Nord) Johnson and grew up in Mahoning Location. She married Emil T. Gustafson in March of 1926 and was a homemaker and caregiver to the elderly. Lily was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and loved to bake and cook.
Lily is survived by son: Lloyd Gustafson of Appleton, WI; grandson: Gary John (Shelley) Gustafson of Minneapolis; former daughter-in-law, caregiver and friend: Betty Aanes of Hibbing; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Emil; and brothers: Helmer and Carl Rudolph Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 08, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service in First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Pastor John Dietz will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hibbing Park – Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church.
