Linda Marie
Shaff
Jan 12, 1951 — Jun 14, 2026
Linda Marie Shaff, 75 of Mt. Iron formerly of Kelsey, passed away June 14th, 2026, with her husband by her side.
Linda was born January 12th, 1951, to Karl and Elma (Keveri) Koepke. Linda grew up in Zim and was the oldest of 4 children. She graduated from Cotton High School in 1969 and moved to Virginia, MN and worked in the Shirt Factory. She lived there until she met the love of her life Larry Shaff. Larry and Linda were married December 18th 1971 and made a home in Virginia for a 1 ½ years before settling in Kelsey for 50 years. In 2022, they made the move to South Grove.
Linda was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary #3044. She sewed many lap robes and bibs for the Silver Bay Veteran's Home. Linda was a proud caretaker of the Kelsey Cemetery by her house where many relatives were laid to rest, and she mowed the grass there for many years. She was also an avid biker and walker in her earlier years and loved blueberry season. You could always count on Linda to be out in the woods all day long picking blueberries. Linda was a huge animal lover. It didn't matter if it was a bird, cat, dog or any other type, she was instantly drawn to them.
Linda loved holidays almost more than the children. Her nieces and nephews knew there would be sweet potatoes with mini marshmallows, paper bags with jellybeans, peanuts and granny candy, Christmas cookies and stuffed animals. You always had to count the Easter eggs before hiding them when Linda was around! If there were too many, she would throw some into the woods for the kids to find! There were many years we found Easter eggs months afterwards.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Karl and Elma Koepke, brother-in-law Ronnie Shaff and nephew Brian Shaff.
Linda is survived and missed by her loving husband of 54 years Larry. Forever cherished and remembered by her sister Shirley (Harold) Whitt, brother Charles (Sheila) Koepke and brother Curtis (Jennifer) Koepke. Her memory will be cherished by the Shaff family; Georgia Shaff, David Shaff and Cecelia (John) Adams.
Her memory lives on with her nieces and nephews; Jennifer (Jason) Soyring, Kristin (Aaron) Zorn, Kinsey (Montana) Johnson, Misty Koepke, Lonny (Crystal) Koepke, Carter Koepke and Kendall Koepke. On her husband's side; Jeremy (Debra) Shaff, Ben Shaff and Bree Shaff. Numerous great nieces, nephews and her special pup Peanut.
A special thank you to East Range Hospice, especially Andrea Hoffman and Cherie, along with the staff at Diamond Willow.
