Lois Ann Hinkel, age 69, lifelong resident of Soudan died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in her home. She was born June 26, 1941, in Soudan, the daughter of Albert and Ann (Johnson) Roy. She graduated from Tower-Soudan High School in 1959, and was united in marriage to Willard Hinkel on July 30, 1960, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Soudan.
Lois worked at the Tower Municipal Liquor Store. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #245. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and fishing.
Lois is survived by her sons: Ken (Amy) Hinkel, and Ray Hinkel, both of Soudan; a brother: Jay (Jan) Roy of Embarrass; and two grandchildren: Jessie and Paige.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Willard; and her son: Russell.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service Monday, June 27, 2011, in the Bauman-Vermilion Funeral Home Chapel in Tower. Pastor LeRoy Holmes will officiate. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
