Lois L. "Loie" McGowan, age 80, of Hibbing and formerly of Denver, CO, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN. She was born January 17, 1934, in Hibbing, MN, the daughter of Alvin "Kelly" and Lily (Christianson) Strehlow. She graduated from Hibbing High School, and shortly thereafter moved to Denver, CO on the advice of a relative who said it was a beautiful place to live. It was there Loie worked as a receptionist for US Bank. She loved people, and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Loie is survived by three children: Martin J. McGowan of Montrose, CO, Robert A. McGowan of Montrose, CO, and Kelly A. (Leonard) Luchau of Valrico, FL; a sister: Doris Klancher of Hibbing; and a granddaughter: Meghan Mae McGowan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by an infant sister: Ramona; and her sister: Joyce Johnson.
