Loren Donald, "Pete" Cline, age 62, lifelong resident of Pengilly died unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2010 at home. He was born January 12, 1947 in Pengilly. He is the son of Loren and Chlorince (Gorden) Cline. Pete was a graduate of Greenway High School. Pete was united in marriage to Gayle Gustafson on June 11, 1966 in Hibbing.
Pete worked as a maintenance mechanic for National Steel for 29 years – retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Pengilly United Methodist Church, The Bovey Moose, and SOAR. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and feeding the neighborhood deer and dogs.
Pete is survived by his wife: Gayle; two daughters: Nikky (Roger) Scheffler of Zumbrota, MN, and Gina (Jay Wright) Cline of Keewatin, MN; one son: Terry (Denise) Cline of Grand Rapids, MN; two sisters: Sharon (Robert) Shofner of Brookston, MN, and Patti (Art) Allen of Queen Creek, AZ; two brothers: Larry (Ione) Cline of Pengilly, MN, and John Cline of Pengilly; nine grandchildren: Chad, Brooke, Amanda, Trevor, Ryan, Elijah, James, Evan, Claira, and one "on the way".
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Barbara.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing, and will continue from 12:00 noon until the 1:00pm funeral service Thursday, January 14, 2010 in the Pengilly United Methodist Church. Pastor Judy Wilder will officiate. Interment will be at the Nashwauk Cemetery.
