Lori Kaye (Sundeen) Tomsich, 70, of Soudan passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026.

Lori was born on July 7th, 1956, in Soudan, MN to Gerald and Lila (Huhta) Sundeen. Lori was raised in Soudan with her siblings. She enjoyed summers on Lake Vermilion, particularly at the family cabin on Sundeen Island. Lori loved growing up with her friends in Soudan and Tower. These childhood friendships would last her entire life. Lori was a 1974 graduate of Tower-Soudan High School. She went on to graduate from Eveleth vocational school and became an optical technician. She started working in downtown Minneapolis making lenses for eyeglasses and would later work for Northern Refractive Surgery in Ely, Virginia and Duluth.

Lori married her high school sweetheart, Tim, on July 15th, 1978. They made their home in Soudan where they raised their three children. Lori was active in the community, volunteering countless hours at the Tower-Soudan school, to her children's activities, and the churches. Lori was an active member of the Tower-Soudan Events Board helping organize and run the Tower 4th of July festivities.

Lori loved to cook, bake and host family holidays and events. The "food spreads" of her gatherings were legendary and no one could leave hungry or without a container of leftovers. Lori cared deeply for everyone she knew whether you were family, a friend, or member of the community. Lori was generous, loving and supportive and always put others before herself. Lori loved spoiling her grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews with gifts, treats and the unconditional love and support only she could give.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters: AnnMarie and Faye.

Lori is survived by her husband: Timothy Tomsich; daughter: Alexandra Tomsich; sons: Philip Tomsich, and Matthew (Lindsey) Tomsich; grandchildren: Tori, Aiden, Finnick, and Lincoln;  sisters: Sarah Young, Amy Berglund, and Mindy Sandstrom; brother: Tom (Jayne) Sundeen; numerous dearly loved nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower.  A visitation will begin one hour prior at 10:00 a.m.  Pastor Sanna Reinholtzen will officiate.  Interment will be at Lakeview cemetery in Tower.
