Louise H. Carpenter, age 78, of Hibbing died Monday, February 28, 2011 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born November 8, 1932 in Hibbing, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Maise) Christenson. She attended Hibbing Schools, and was united in marriage to Francis Pelkey, and later to Bruce Carpenter for 45 years. Louise enjoyed many things including visiting with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, putting puzzles together, picking berries and canning. She loved to have coffee with Bev Friend. Her beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Louise is survived by 8 children: Jennifer (Ray) Hendrickson of Balsam, Michael (Nancy) Pelkey of Biwabik, Daniel (Sue) Pelkey of Chisholm, Linda (Jim) Wydra of Keewatin, Tammy (Earl) Bruce of Omaha, AR, Alan (Tami) Carpenter of Hibbing, Gene Carpenter of Stillwater, and Jackie Carpenter of Hibbing; a brother: Charles (Barb) Christenson of Minneapolis; 25 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Bruce; a sister-in-law: Terry Apel; and a grandson: Timothy Carpenter.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am memorial service, Friday, March 4th, 2011 in the Hibbing Christian Assembly (2201 2nd Ave. W., Hibbing). The Rev. Rod Tuomi will officiate.
