Madeline G. Kerola, age 93, of Virginia died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Eveleth Fitzgerald Nursing Home with family at her side. She was born September 18, 1923 in Eveleth the daughter of George and Ann (Olsen) Moe. She graduated from Gilbert High School and went on to attend Virginia Jr. College and the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing where she received her RN degree. She was united in marriage to Edward N. Kerola on March 5, 1977.

Madeline worked as a Registered Nurse in Chicago and Pittsburgh and then moved back to Virginia where she finished her career at the Virginia Hospital. She was a member of Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church and served in the Priscilla Circle. She was a member of the Virginia Study Club and the Virginia Women's Golf Club. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her cats, taking trips with her husband to Texas, spending Holidays with her family, and spending time at Lake Vermilion.

Madeline is survived by her step-children: Jon W. (Dreama) Kerola of Lakeville, MN and Mary Ann Hendrickson of Roselle, IL; her sister: Joleen A. Constantine of Eveleth; her great-nephews: Patrick and Zachary Horoshak; her step-grandchildren: Greg Kerola, Ryan Kerola, Robb, Greg and Pete Bonahoom, and Craig Hendrickson; and her special Friend: Lori Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Edward; and her niece: Benita Horoshak.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Funeral Service Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Reverend Nathan Sager will officiate. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik.
