Marcia
Wilkins
Feb 8, 1945 — Jan 6, 2018
Marcia Louise (Harris) Wilkins passed away on January 6, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born on Feb. 8, 1945 in Prairie du Chein, WI to Daniel & Lela Harris. She attended West Grant High School and graduated in 1963 Valedictorian of her class. She married Earl Louis Wilkins on August 20, 1966 and they enjoyed fifty-one years together. She worked as a secretary for Ray O Vac in Madison, WI and in the University of Wisconsin Platteville library before becoming the mother of two sons, Jaret and Brian Wilkins. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially playing board games and holiday celebrations. She had an extraordinary knack for finding just the right gifts and presenting them elegantly wrapped with beautiful paper, ribbons and bows. She loved watching ice figure skating. She was also very creative and enjoyed putting together crafts and knitting. She enjoyed bringing the backyard to life every spring by planting beautiful flowers and watching them bloom all summer long. She could identify every bird that visited the backyard and especially loved seeing the hummingbirds.
She took the greatest joy in watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up over the years. She loved holding all the newborns and hearing stories about their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ross Harris.
She is survived by her husband, Earl, her sons, Jaret (Tammi) and Brian (Julie), grandchildren Nicole, Tanya, Spencer, Teagan and Phoebe, and great-grandchildren Grayson and Natalie.
Private funeral services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
