Margaret C. Riser, age 87, longtime resident of Hibbing died Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Shalom Home West in St. Louis Park, MN. She was born December 31, 1922 in Hibbing the daughter of Anders and Christine (Lindmark) Pearson. She graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to attend Hibbing Jr. College and the Minneapolis School of Hair Design.
Margaret worked as a homemaker, and she was a sales clerk for J.C. Penney in Hibbing. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Margaret is survived by her children: Keith (Sharon) Riser of New Ulm, MN, Norm Riser of Hibbing, and Edie (Chuck) Mersereau of Minneapolis, MN; her sister: Astrid Angen of Cheyenne, WY; 7 grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Franks, Ryan Johnson, Samantha Riser, Derek Riser, Michael Riser, Michelle Mersereau, and Mark (Carmy) Mersereau; and two great-grandchildren: Ian and Brandon Mersereau.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and her former husband: Elmer Riser.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Rev. John Dietz will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church, 2201 3rd Ave. E., Hibbing, MN 55746.
