Marie Louise Zavodnik, age 79, longtime resident of Soudan, MN, died Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Boundary Waters Care Center in Ely.  She was born March 11, 1946, in Gilbert, MN, the daughter of Tony and Mary (Vesel) Zavodnik.  She was a graduate of Tower-Soudan High School.

Marie worked as a housekeeper at the Marjo Hotel in Tower.  She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, and KSKJ.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

Marie is survived by her brother: Anthony (Kathleen) Zavodnik of Soudan, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Vincent; and sisters: Ann and Helen, and infant sister, Dorothy Zavodnik.

A private graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.  Following the burial, there will be a luncheon for family and friends at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church.
