Marjorie Jonette Larson, age 91 of Virginia, died Monday, January 18, 2016 in Essentia Care Center – Virginia. She was born September 16, 1924 in Amery, WI the daughter of Orville and Ethelyn (Anderson) Peterson, grew up in Dresser, WI and graduated from High School in Superior, WI. After High School she was employed by the Great Northern Railroad. On March 9, 1946 Marjorie married William C. Larson, Sr. in Apple River, WI and they made their home in Virginia, MN; where she was employed as a secretary for the Mesabi Daily News for many years. In retirement, they returned to Cushing, WI. Following William's death in 1990, Marjorie moved to St. Croix Falls, WI and resided there until returning to Virginia three years ago. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Cushing and its women's circle; enjoyed reading, gardening, and playing the piano and organ.

Marjorie is survived by her children: William (Linda) Larson, Jr. of Eveleth and Christine (Lane) Nogle of Solon Springs, WI; sister: Lois (Carl) Renoos of Superior, WI; grandchildren: Shari (Paul) Undeland and Chad (Danielle) Larson; great-grandchildren: Hailey & Abby Undeland and Blake & Brianna Larson; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: William in 1990 and brothers: Dale Peterson and Ellsworth Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the First Lutheran Church in Cushing, WI. Pastor Marilyn Crossfield will officiate. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Cushing Cemetery.
