Marlyn R. Grunwald, age 79, lifelong resident of Embarrass passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 11, 2014. He was born July 5, 1935, in Owatonna, MN, the son of Adolph and Lillian Grunwald. A veteran of the US Air Force, Marlyn served during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Betty Jewett on April 19, 1957 in Pipestone, MN, and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together.
Marlyn worked for Erie Mining for 30 years. He contributed to the Union and politics for many years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Embarrass. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Marlyn is survived by his wife: Betty; his son: Terry Grunwald; his daughter: Deb Grunwald; his son: Dale Grunwald; his grandchildren: Jason (Kayla) Holm, Heather (Eric) Pulkinen, Meagan (Jesse) Ciolkosz, Aaron Guski, Daniel Grunwald, Alea Hendricks, Laura Beth Hansen, and Trisha Neuromberg; 8 great-grandchildren; and special friend: 9 year-old Elaina Swanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother: Larry Grunwald.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm Memorial Service Sunday, august 17, 2014, at the Embarrass Town Hall. The Reverend Brian Birk will officiate.
