Mary J. Maki, age 92, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at her residence in Hillcrest Parkside in Hibbing. She was born March 6, 1921, in Hibbing the daughter of Rosario and Josephine Marino. She attended school in Hibbing. Mary was united in marriage to Arvo Maki on September 28, 1940 in Hibbing.
Mary worked in the mines during WWII, and then went to work for Feldman's Clothiers in Hibbing until their closing. She was a member and volunteer at the Sr. Center in Hibbing and the Mine view.
Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews, great, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Arvo in 1988; brothers: Joe, Tony, Roy, and Alberto Marino; and her sister Theresa Valentini.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. Greg Anderson will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
