Milton R. Olson, age 84, longtime resident of Hibbing and formerly of Libby, MT, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Evergreen Terrace in Grand Rapids. He was born August 26, 1932, in Strathcona, MN, the son of Nels and Agnes (Strandberg) Olson. He graduated from Thief River Falls, High School. A veteran of the US Air Force, Milton served during the Korean War. Milton was united in marriage to Martha Favors in 1954 in Durant, OK.

Milton was a retired Boilermaker through Local #647, and former Carpenter - working through the local union shops. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and cheering for the Vikings.

Milton is survived by his children: Marcella (Terry) Ackley of Phoenix, AZ, Wesley (Debi) Olson of Melbourne, FL, and John (Tina) Olson of Hibbing; grandchildren: Sharina Olson, Jason Ackley, Sarah Bosworth, Chelsea, Stormy, Trinity , and John Olson; great-grandchildren: Sophia, Violet, Colton, Christian, and Lydia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Martha in 2007, brothers: Iner and Arnold, and sister: Opal Givens.

At Milton's request, a private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Cherry Cemetery.
