Norma Petrich, age 78 a lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in her home with her family by her side. She was born October 27, 1934 in Hibbing, the daughter of Lawrence and Fannie (Sallila) Berg; and attended Hibbing High School and Hibbing Junior College. Norma married Milan Petrich on March 13, 1953. She was employed as a certified Nursing assistant by the Buchanan Nursing Home, the Hibbing Hospital, and the Greenview Residence. She loved curling, bocce ball, gardening and enjoyed writing, especially poems.
Norma is survived by children: Michael (Sue) Nelson of Hibbing, Lois Dunn of Hibbing, Nick Petrich of Swan Lake, Janet Petrich of Kelly Lake, and Sherry Petrich of Gilbert; siblings: Gail (Ken) Gilleshammer of Hopkins and Dale (Marcy) Berg of Hibbing; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law: Jenny Sterle of Chisholm; nieces, nephews, extended family; and her furry, 4-legged companion: Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Milan; and siblings: Dorothy Rebrovich, Lawrence Berg, Phyllis Garmaker, Darlene Willette, and Judy Johnson.
At Norma's request, private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the North Star Hospice.
