Og Krueger, age 83 of Mountain Iron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2016 surrounded by his family in his daughter's home. He was born May 24, 1932 in Vergas, MN the son of Ewald and Doris (Cummings) Krueger and married Janice Umlauf on May 22, 1958 in Dent, MN. Og grew up in Vergas and eventually settled with is family in South Grove in 1967. He was employed as a Master Plumber/Pipefitter with Local 589 for Tini Mechanical and Mesabi Mechanical Engineering Company, retiring in 1991. Og enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, taxidermy, puzzles, and watching Golf, Curling, the Little League World Series, the MN High School Hockey Tournament, and Notre Dame Football. He was the South Grove "plumber/foreman"; helping many of his friends and his family with a multitude of Projects. Og cherished time spent with his children, following his grandchildren's adventures, and visiting with friends and neighbors on the deck.

Og is survived by his children: Cheryl(David) Mattson of Virginia, Amy (Gordy) Savela of Grand Rapids and Arthur (Mary Jane) Krueger of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren: Matthew (Mary) Mattson of Mountain Iron, Douglas (Kasey) Mattson of Biwabik, Angie Savela of Grand Rapids, Emily Savela who is attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Stewart Savela of Grand Rapids, Jordan Krueger of Illinois, Josh and Mable Krueger both of Gilbert, AZ, Anthony Krueger and Anna (Jason) Mather all of Badger, MN; great-grandchildren: Desarea Mattson, Nolan Jarvi, and Elliot Mather; niece: Debbie (Gary) Haefele; nephews: David and Jeff Krueger; extended Family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Janice in 2013; sons: Douglas in 1962 and Dean in 2008; and brother: Kurt Krueger.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mountain Iron. Pastor Kristen Foster will officiate. The gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Vergas Village Cemetery at a later date.
